Hepatitis A: It is a contagious type of infection. This virus can be transmitted to other people by foods prepared by an infected person, contaminated stools (feces), contaminated water, and close personal contact , but not by cough, sneezing, hugging (without skin contact).

Prevention of liver diseases:

Drink alcohol in moderation. Alcohol is the biggest cause of liver diseases. More than eight drinks a week for women and more than 15 drinks a week for men can damage and kill liver cells.

Get vaccinated. Getting the hepatitis A and hepatitis B vaccines on time is the best prevention for liver related diseases.

Use medications wisely. Take prescription and nonprescription medicine only when needed and only in recommended doses. Discuss with your healthcare provider before mixing herbal supplements or prescription or nonprescription drugs.
